International Women’s Day on March 8 is a spring holiday, when every woman is presented with gifts to show love, respect, devotion and attention. Numerous boutiques and malls these days offer traditional gifts – bouquets of flowers, chocolate boxes or souvenirs. And for those who like to emphasize individuality, to give and receive original, exclusive gifts, a master from Ashgabat Maya Djaparova has created a collection of exquisite jewelry made of fresh flowers. Her collection that includes earrings, rings, brooches, like frozen drops of clear spring water with amazing compositions inside, shows femininity and extraordinary taste when choosing accessories. Three years ago, Maya prepared her first collection on the eve of the spring holiday and pleased her family, friends and colleagues with gift items. Being engaged in needlework, the craftswoman first became interested in modeling jewelry from polymer clay, made panels from coffee beans and money topiary. And now, according to her, she has found exactly the kind of creativity that she was looking for. All that is needed for the craftsman’s work is dried flowers, molds, jewelry resin and, of course, a little fantasy. As Maya says, the best inspiration for her is, first of all, her mother, children and nature itself: fresh wind, warm sun, smells of wildflowers. “When I have flowers in my hands, I want to share this beauty with women and girls,” says the author's jewelry. “I use them to make elegant piece jewelry – a subtle composition that cannot be copied. After all, in nature everything is unique – there are no two identical leaves or two identical waves ...” The master believes that the jewelry resin prolongs the short life of flowers, preserves and emphasizes their beauty – under a transparent layer, they seem to be placed behind glass or immersed in water. Resin in clever hands provides unlimited possibilities to the author. “It takes around two weeks to make one piece of jewelry (a set – earrings and a ring), depending on the complexity. This period is due to the polymerization of the resin, selection and drying of flowers, besides, I am limited in time for my favorite hobby due to my business at the main job. Any art does not require a strict work schedule and clear tasks, as inspiration and self-organization are of importance rather along with perseverance, attention and patience,” continues Maya. The creator of things of amazing beauty and harmony, the craft master, Maya Djaparova gave a piece of advice to ORIENT readers and, taking this opportunity, congratulated on the coming International Women’s Day – the holiday of spring: “You should always do something that gives you spiritual satisfaction. You need to feel yourself, your thoughts and desires, listen to them and make a right choice. Therefore, I wish all readers to find their calling and favorite work. And I wish all women good health, happiness and success in all your endeavors. May there be an endless spring in your souls and sound of birds!
