Heavy monsoon rains have caused massive flooding in Pakistan and India, affecting millions of people. According to Al Jazeera, four million people have been affected by the disaster in Pakistan alone, while thousands of farmers in neighboring India have lost their crops.

Three rivers have burst their banks in Pakistan, flooding entire cities and thousands of hectares of farmland in the most populous province of Punjab. Victims say they have lost all their property and crops, and are in dire need of assistance. The problem of providing temporary housing and tents to protect children is especially acute.

Pakistani authorities have set up hundreds of aid camps and medical centers, but local officials say the scale of the disaster is so great that it is extremely difficult for the country to cope with it alone.

According to the UN, more than 900 people have died in floods in Pakistan since the beginning of the monsoon season. Experts link the increase in monsoon intensity to global climate change, making such natural disasters even more devastating.
