Strengthening strategic partnership and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, in which the regional component occupies a special place, was discussed in a telephone conversation on Friday, September 5, between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the United States Donald Trump.

During the conversation, the heads of state exchanged views on current international issues, including deepening cooperation between the Central Asian countries and the United States in the C5+1 format. This is a dialogue format that is designed to help strengthen security, stability and sustainable development in the region.

The leaders also paid attention to bilateral relations. The US President highly appreciated the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at modernizing the economy and improving the well-being of the population. In turn, the President of Uzbekistan noted the efforts of the American side to peacefully resolve international and regional conflicts.

As reported on the website of the Uzbek leader, the discussion focused on promoting business cooperation projects in priority sectors and dramatically increasing the volume of trade transactions. It was noted that in 2024, trade turnover between the two countries increased by 15%.

The portfolio of promising cooperation projects covers such areas as civil aviation, critical mineral resources, electrical engineering, energy, agriculture, digital technologies, the financial sector, innovation, education and many others.

It was noted with satisfaction that the national team of Uzbekistan will take part in the World Cup, which will be held next year in the United States, for the first time.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited Donald Trump to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan.
