New banknotes to be put into circulation in Kazakhstan

The National Bank of Kazakhstan will issue new banknotes with denominations of 500 tenge and 20,000 tenge.
In particular, in the fourth quarter of 2025, the new 500-tenge banknotes will be put into circulation, while the 20,000-tenge banknotes will follow in 2026.
The design of the new banknotes is based on elements of the “Saka style,” which is considered the predecessor of the traditional Kazakh ornament and reflects the country’s heritage — from the unique nomadic culture to modern Kazakhstan.
