President of Turkmenistan expresses condolences to Portugal over tragedy in Lisbon


President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent condolences to President of the Portuguese Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa over the tragic incident in Lisbon. On behalf of the people and the Government of Turkmenistan, as well as on his own behalf, the head of state conveyed words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, and wished a speedy recovery to all victims.
The tragedy occurred on Wednesday evening in the center of Lisbon, where the Gloria funicular derailed. As a result of the incident, 17 people were killed and more than 20 were injured. Among the dead were citizens of Canada, Germany, the United States, Ukraine, Spain, South Korea, France, Italy and Switzerland.
