Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova held talks with Adviser to the President of the Republic of Slovenia on Foreign Policy Issues Damjan Bergant, as well as with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Dr. Melita Gabrič. These meetings, which took place on the sidelines of the Bled Strategic Forum, laid the foundation for expanding dialogue and cooperation in various fields.

During the talks with Adviser to the President of Slovenia Damjan Bergant, the Turkmen side emphasized the special significance of 2025, when Turkmenistan celebrates the 30th anniversary of its neutrality. In this regard, the Turkmen delegation invited Slovenia to participate in a high-level international conference to be held on December 12 in Ashgabat.

The interlocutors also discussed the possibility of organizing a meeting of the leaders of the two countries on the sidelines of the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly in New York. Damjan Bergant noted the dynamic development of Turkmenistan and confirmed Slovenia's readiness to make every effort to participate worthily in the Ashgabat forum.

At a meeting with State Secretary of the Slovenian Foreign Ministry Melita Gabrič, the parties discussed specific steps to strengthen cooperation:

Diplomatic cooperation: Readiness to continue the format of political consultations between the foreign ministries was confirmed, the next round of which is planned for 2026 in Ljubljana.

Economic dialogue: It was proposed to expand the format of interaction by organizing business events and business forums with the participation of representatives of both countries in parallel with political consultations. The chemical and energy industries, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, sports, agriculture and technology were named as potential areas for cooperation.

Cultural exchange: The Slovenian side informed about plans to hold screenings of Slovenian films in Turkmenistan, which will help strengthen humanitarian contacts and mutual understanding between peoples.
