China sets 2021 GDP growth target of more than 6%
China will aspire to increase the total gross domestic product (GDP) in 2021 more than on 6 % in annual calculation, advancing reforms even more actively, creating and introducing innovations, and also promoting high-quality development the country. It was told in the report on work of the government of the People’s Republic of China, submitted today, on March 5, for consideration of the 4th session of the 13th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China (NPC).
With the given report before deputies of 13th NPC Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China spoke, declaring target indicators of social and economic development of the country for 2021.
«For the current year following basic indicators of social and economic development have been planned: GDP will make more than 6 %, in cities and settlements will be created over 11 million new workplaces, a rate of unemployment estimated on the basis of selective inspections, will be kept approximately at level of 5, 5 %, consumer price index growth is supposed approximately at level of 3 %. The import and export volume will remain stable at increase of their quality; basically equation of the international payments will remain. Population incomes will confidently grow. There will be a further improvement of ecological situation, power consumption of GDP will decrease approximately by 3 %, and reduction of total emissions of principal views of polluting substances will proceed. Gathering of the grain will remain at level over 650 million tons», - Li Keqiang said.
As he said, rates of economic growth represent a complex indicator which has been defined taking into account the situation of restoration of functioning of economy, and it is expected that GDP growth in 2021 will make more than 6 %. Economic activities renewal gives a possibility comprehensively to concentrate efforts on reforms, innovations and assistance to high-quality development.
«Prospective indicators of rates of increase of economy, employment, consumer prices and other indicators personify necessity to support economy functioning in rational range, quite correspond to the purposes planned for the following period, and also favour to maintenance of steady and healthy development», - the head of the Chinese government noted.
The 4th session of the 13th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China was opened this morning, on March 5 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
The session’s opening was attended by Xi Jinping, other party and state authorities of the country.
