Xiaomi announces release of HyperOS 3 based on Android 16

Xiaomi has officially announced that the new version of its operating system, HyperOS 3, will premiere on August 28.

The main feature of the update will be the transition to the new Android 16 platform, which will bring visual and functional improvements, including updated icons and enhanced animation.

The first smartphones to come with pre-installed HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 will be the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro, which are expected to be released in late September. It is important to note, however, that for older models, HyperOS 3 will be built on the Android 15 platform.
