Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan plan to create a network of wholesale and distribution centers and develop sustainable trade and logistics chains.

According to Report, this was announced by Uzbekistan's Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, in an interview with the "Uzbekistan-24" TV channel on the sidelines of the trilateral "Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan" summit.

Strengthening Economic Ties "In recent years, the economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and both Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan has been developing at a very high and active pace. Over the past few years, trade turnover with both countries has more than doubled. Most importantly, around 40% of our trade is in high-value-added goods—industrial products. This indicates that we are moving to a new level of economic interaction," he emphasized.

According to Kudratov, very important decisions were made during the meeting that will contribute to further deepening economic partnership. The primary focus is on cooperation in trade and industrial collaboration.

"The Ministries of Trade of the three countries will work on preparing a comprehensive action plan aimed at developing sustainable trade and logistics chains," the minister noted.

Future Plans He explained that the plan will include creating a network of wholesale and distribution centers and easing access for products to the markets of the three countries. The parties also intend to separately work on unifying phytosanitary and quarantine requirements.

"We will work on digital product marking to ensure seamless and very fast trade operations between our countries. And, of course, we will actively develop e-commerce," Kudratov stated.

He said that e-commerce formats should help implement mechanisms that will directly connect suppliers and manufacturers with consumers in the region.

"And, of course, we will actively develop direct interaction between our regions. Interregional cooperation will allow us to directly connect entrepreneurs from our regions with each other. We are confident that this kind of interaction will yield very specific results in the near future," he concluded.
