Dovran Shammyev to Represent Turkmenistan at Silk Way Star Vocal Competition in Astana
The first Asian vocal competition Silk Way Star is starting in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, which will unite talents from 12 countries - from Azerbaijan to South Korea. The honor of representing Turkmenistan fell to the popular singer and composer Dovran Shammyev.
The international music show promises to be one of the most exciting events of the year. Filming of the project begins on August 20, and the grand finale in the live show format will take place on November 22 and will be broadcast on the leading TV channels of the participating countries, including Turkmen ones.
The project consists of 10 episodes, each of which is a real journey through the musical traditions and modern trends of Asia. Viewers will see unusual duets, cross-cultural collaborations and emotional stories of artists. Voting will be held according to the international system, and in the grand final, the winner will be determined by both the professional jury (50%) and the audience (50%), Kazinform reports.
The jury of the competition is no less stellar. Thus, the panel of judges includes the famous Turkmen conductor Rasul Klychev, whose participation will be a significant contribution to the assessment of talents.
Dovran Shammyev himself is a multifaceted performer, working in the genres of jazz, pop, rock, blues and classical music. He is also known as a composer and actively participates in public initiatives.
The Silk Way Star project is becoming not just a competition, but an important platform for cultural exchange, international dialogue through music and opens up new names to a global audience. The winner will receive not only a unique title, but also a chance to present their work on the world stage.
The competition, organized within the framework of an agreement between the TRC of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the CMG Media Corporation of China, promises to become annual and in the future will be held in different countries of Asia.
