An International Conference “Novruz Diplomacy” was held in Tehran

One-day International Conference “Novruz Diplomacy” was held in Tehran with the participation of politicians, philosophers and diplomats from Iran, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Turkey. On September 30, 2009, Novruz was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and since that time, March 21 has been declared as the International Day of Novruz. In addition to Iran and Afghanistan, Novruz is celebrated as a public holiday in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Albania, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Turkey, and Kazakhstan.
