The opening of the world's first store for humanoid robots in Beijing has served as a clear testament to China's status as a global leader in the field of robotics. This event, which coincided with the 2025 World Robotics Conference, shows how machines are being actively integrated into various aspects of life.

The store, named Robot Mall, occupies four floors and operates on a 4S model: sales, spare parts supply, service, and market research. It features more than 50 brands and seven categories of robots—from medical and industrial models to bionic and sports robots that can play soccer or chess.

These innovations reflect a larger trend. According to the Global Times, China accounted for two-thirds of all robot patent applications worldwide in 2024. During that year, the country produced 556,000 industrial robots, making it the largest manufacturer on the planet.

Economists note that the development of robots is necessary for performing tasks that are dangerous for humans and underscore the importance of government policies for regulating the labor market. A restaurant has also opened next to the Robot Mall, where the staff, including chefs and bartenders, are robots, and the establishment serves as a testing ground for them.

In addition to commercial and manufacturing successes, China is demonstrating achievements in other areas. For example, the country hosted the world's first MMA-style humanoid robot fight, where the goal was to test their stability and ability to get up quickly after falling. Furthermore, a robot graduate student, Xueba 01, has been introduced at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, where it will spend four years studying drama, acting, and traditional Chinese opera.
