The Terminology Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has approved a new list of borrowed words that have been assigned Uzbek-language equivalents, according to the press service of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The list includes 40 foreign and borrowed words that are widely used in business, media, and everyday communication. Among them are terms such as “advance payment,” “iceberg,” “leader,” “password,” “screw,” and “navigator,” as well as Russian-origin words like “screwdriver,” “delivery,” “bookbinding,” “excavation pit,” “SUV,” and others.

According to the new recommendations, the commonly used term "IT Park" should now be referred to as "AT parki" (Axborot texnologiyalari parki), which aligns with the norms of the modern Uzbek language.

The decision was made to standardize and organize official terminology and promote its widespread use in everyday speech. The new list of terms is recommended for use in legislation, official documents, education, and media.

The document was developed in accordance with linguistic standards and aims to strengthen the role of the Uzbek language in various spheres of public life.
