OpenAI's annualized revenue has reached $12 billion, according to The Information. This figure has doubled in seven months, with monthly revenue currently standing at $1 billion.

As revenue grows, so do expenses. OpenAI's planned annual spending, initially around $7 billion, has now been increased to $8 billion. The primary reason for these costs is CEO Sam Altman's ambitious plans to build a large-scale infrastructure for artificial intelligence systems.

OpenAI is now preparing for a second funding round to raise $30 billion for its development. While SoftBank plans to invest approximately $32 billion in the startup in phases, other investors, including Sequoia Capital and Tiger Global Management, have so far expressed their readiness to contribute $7.5 billion. Although the company's expenses currently exceed its revenue, investor interest in OpenAI remains high.
