Xiaomi has officially announced a list of smartphones from its Xiaomi, POCO, and Redmi brands that will soon cease to receive updates. These devices will receive their final update in September 2025, marking the conclusion of their support.

Support for the following devices will be discontinued in the coming months: Redmi A1, Redmi A1+, Redmi 11 Prime 4G, POCO C50, POCO M5 (the final update for this model will be released on September 6, 2025, earlier than the others), Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE, Xiaomi 11 Lite LE, Xiaomi 11T, and Xiaomi 11T Pro.

For most of the aforementioned models (with the exception of the POCO M5), the final security patch from Google will be released on September 23, 2025. After this date, these smartphones will no longer receive any updates. The majority of these devices will cease receiving updates while remaining on Android 14, having almost all been updated to HyperOS version one or two during their service life.

In accordance with Xiaomi's policy, the company typically updates its smartphones for 3-4 years, maintaining them on the current OS version. Flagship models may additionally receive security updates from Google for 1-2 years, whereas support for budget devices is fully terminated.

Xiaomi warns that after support is discontinued, smartphones become less secure as they no longer receive critically important security patches from Google. These updates rectify serious bugs and vulnerabilities that could be exploited by malicious actors for potential attacks. In addition to security risks, users also lose access to new features and improvements.
