Turkmenistan ranks among top five gas suppliers to Turkiye
In May 2025, Turkmenistan secured the fifth position among natural gas suppliers to Turkey. According to data from the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), the volume of Turkmen exports reached 120.03 million cubic meters of gas, constituting 3.39% of total supplies. This information was reported by Report.
Turkey's total gas imports in May amounted to 3.54 billion cubic meters, marking a 22.79% increase compared to the same period last year. Pipeline gas accounted for the majority of these imports, specifically 89.32%, originating from Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran, and Turkmenistan.
Alongside Turkmenistan, other significant gas suppliers to Turkey included Azerbaijan (29.87% of total volume), Russia (33.7%), Iran (22.37%), Algeria (7.96%), and the United States (2.71%). Notably, Turkmenistan was the sole new entrant to this list, demonstrating consistent pipeline supply dynamics.
Turkey continues to diversify its energy sources, and Turkmenistan's involvement in this process underscores its expanding role in the regional energy market.
