Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Discussed Upcoming Events by Phone
On July 28, a telephone conversation took place between Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.
The focus was on strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, creating new growth points, upcoming regional and international events, as well as many other important topics, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.
In recent years, an unprecedentedly high level of bilateral cooperation has been achieved, primarily due to regular meetings of the leaders of our countries.
Close and fruitful interdepartmental contacts are maintained, the volumes of trade and cargo transportation are growing. Important cooperation projects are being implemented, the construction of the Shavat-Dashoguz border trade zone is nearing completion. The next meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission, the Interregional Forum and the Business Council is planned.
The parties are also coordinating their preparations for the upcoming seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Tashkent in September of this year.
