Ashgabat, July 29 | ORIENT. Details shedding light on the prospects for trade and economic cooperation have become known following the visit of a representative business delegation from Kazakhstan to Ashgabat, which took place on July 23-26. The Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan has released details of the negotiations, which open up new horizons for bilateral partnership, publishing a press release on its website on July 28.

Large-Scale Negotiations: From Mechanical Engineering to Energy

The Kazakh delegation was headed by Deputy Chairman of the Industry Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhammed Andakov. It included heads and experts from about 20 leading Kazakh companies representing key industries such as mechanical engineering, automotive industry, mining and metallurgy, light and construction industries. Such a broad coverage demonstrates a deep interest in developing comprehensive cooperation with Turkmenistan.

During the visit, the Kazakh guests actively got acquainted with the work of leading Turkmen enterprises, including Gok Saray, Akar tekstil and the Erte factory. Numerous B2B meetings were held with Turkmen companies aimed at establishing mutually beneficial contacts.

Mukhammed Andakov held important talks with representatives of key Turkmen departments: transport, industry and construction, railways, as well as the state concerns Turkmengaz and Turkmennebit. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs also took an active part in the dialogue. The discussions focused on issues of deepening trade and economic cooperation and implementing joint projects in both countries.

Specific Agreements and New Investments

One of the most notable practical results of the visit was the signing of an agreement between the Turkmen individual enterprise Berk Önüm (specializing in the production of adhesive polypropylene coatings) and Intago Kazakhstan, a leading manufacturer of geosynthetic materials. The agreement provides for the supply of polyester and polypropylene fiber, which underlines the growing demand for quality products and the willingness of companies from both countries to engage in direct transactions.

A Step Towards Strengthening Regional Ties

Such direct contacts between business and government representatives are the foundation for the prosperity of the entire Central Asian region.
