Produce of Kyyanly Petrochemical Plant About to Enter Global Markets

The petrochemical plant for production of polyethylene and polypropylene in Kyyanly, Balkan province, is one of the most promising energy projects in Turkmenistan. It is currently functioning in the test mode. As mentioned at the recent meeting of senior executives of the fuel and energy system of Turkmenistan, the plant’s specialists collaborate with representatives of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET) to draft the plan on selling the plant’s products on the domestic and foreign markets. As reported by the SCRMET, polypropylene is in high demand at the Turkmen exchange as it satisfies the foreign and local buyers in terms of excellent quality and reasonable price. According to Turkmenistan’s State Committee for Statistics, production of polypropylene in the country was increased by 6.1% in the first six months of 2018. The new Petrochemical plant aims to increase the production of this polymer by 81 thousand tons yearly to reach the annual output of 170 thousand tons of polypropylene. At such high production rate, it is crucial to thoroughly plan the pricing policy for the Kyyanly plant’s future products, examine the supply and demand on the global market, consider the logistics issues etc. At stake is the economic efficiency of the region’s most promising plant, say the SCRMET experts.
