Uzbekistan to cease production of Ai-80 gasoline from September

"Uzbekneftegaz" JSC plans to completely halt the production of AI-80 automobile gasoline starting in September 2025.

The company intends to fully deplete its existing reserves of AI-80 gasoline at its enterprise warehouses by the end of the current year. From 2026, Uzbekneftegaz will transition exclusively to the sale of high-octane fuels.

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan previously announced the phased discontinuation of this type of fuel in early 2024. The ministry noted that AI-80 gasoline is already prohibited in many countries and has been phased out even in nations such as Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which are entirely reliant on imported petroleum products.
