New Oil Loading Berth to Increase Export of Turkmen Oil Products
Ashgabat, July 19 | ORIENT. The grand opening of the third oil loading berth of the Kenar enterprise for storage and shipment of oil products, which is part of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR), took place. The new facility has become an important step in the development of the country's fuel and energy complex.
The opening ceremony took place on Friday, July 18. On this day, at a government meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov reported to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the results of the oil and gas sector, including the completion of the construction of the new berth. The President noted that the facility, with an annual capacity of 2.06 million tons of loading and 1.15 million tons of oil products, will increase the export of Turkmen hydrocarbons and strengthen the country's position in the international market.
The Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmennebit" Guvanch Agadzhanov, who was at the pier, addressed the President via video link. He asked for a blessing to open the facility. After that, the elders cut the symbolic ribbon, and the first tanker began loading oil products.
…The Kenar enterprise, located near the city of Turkmenbashi on the Caspian Sea coast, plays a key role in the logistics of petroleum products. It provides storage, pumping and shipment of gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, fuel oil and other products for both the domestic market and for export.
The enterprise is equipped with a modern SCADA automation system, which simplifies the accounting and shipment of petroleum products. It is connected to the TCOR by a pipeline network and has a railway overpass, commissioned in 2018, for the simultaneous loading of up to 28 tank cars per day. The new third oil loading berth will significantly expand the capabilities of the Kenar enterprise, strengthening its importance for the economy of Turkmenistan.
