General Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries appointed as Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan
The diplomatic mission of Kazakhstan in Ashgabat will be headed by Zhandos Asanov, who has held the post of Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries since 2013. The corresponding decree on the appointment recently was signed by President Nazarbayev. Asanov graduated from Alma-ata Pedagogical Institute of foreign languages. He started his career in the MFA as an assistant. In various years, he headed the press service, protocol service, Department of Europe and America of the foreign ministry. He also held various positions in the presidential protocol, the prime minister’s secretariat, Senate of the Parliament. Asanov's diplomatic career was marked by different positions in the diplomatic missions of Kazakhstan in Pakistan, Great Britain, Belgium, and the OSCE.
