Turkmenistan ranks among top 10 countries for tourists visiting Uzbekistan in early 2025
According to data released by the Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan secured the sixth position among countries whose citizens most frequently visited Uzbekistan between January and May 2025.
During this period, 142,500 citizens of Turkmenistan traveled to the neighboring country. This figure represents an increase of more than 2.5 times compared to the same period last year, when the number of Turkmen tourists stood at 53,800.
The top five countries by number of visits to Uzbekistan in the first five months of 2025 were: Kyrgyzstan (1.28 million people), Tajikistan (993,700), Kazakhstan (889,600), Russia (334,300), and Afghanistan (199,200).
In total, Uzbekistan welcomed 4.2 million foreign tourists during the specified period, marking a 48.2% increase compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
