National Leader of the Turkmen People Meets with Head of Caucasus Muslims Board
Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, met with Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade on July 16.
During the meeting, Allahshukur Pashazade said that Turkmenistan has chosen the path of independent development since gaining independence, and that he is following the state's successes with satisfaction, adding that he hopes to visit Turkmenistan again in the near future and meet with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Touching on issues of cooperation in the religious sphere, Sheikh-ul-Islam recalled his previous meeting with the Mufti of Turkmenistan. He emphasized that under the leadership of the heads of state of both countries, Azerbaijani-Turkmen relations, including cooperation in the religious and spiritual sphere, have expanded, AZERTAC reports.
Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed satisfaction with the meeting with President Ilham Aliyev. He emphasized that the spiritual ties existing between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan contribute to further strengthening the friendly relations between our peoples, and expressed confidence that this meeting will give additional impetus to the further expansion of ties.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that joint initiatives are of strategic importance, religious and spiritual dialogue occupies an important place in this framework, and it was noted that in the future it is necessary to continue joint efforts in this direction.
The Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty invited Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade to take part in the upcoming opening ceremony of a mosque in Turkmenistan.
