Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Held Talks with the Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan
A delegation led by Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, visited the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The guests of honor were welcomed by Speaker of the Parliament Sahiba Gafarova. Before the meeting, the delegation examined the exhibits of the Heydar Aliyev Memorial Hall, and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left a note in the Book of Remembrance.
During the meeting of the parties in an expanded format, Sahiba Gafarova expressed confidence that this visit will serve to the development and strengthening of relations between the countries, AZERTAC reports.
According to the speaker, mutual visits and high-level meetings play an important role in strengthening and deepening interstate ties. "Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan successfully cooperate in a number of international organizations. The Turkmen side's constant support for Azerbaijan's initiatives as the chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement is highly appreciated," Gafarova said.
It was noted that the existing legal framework between the countries is quite extensive and covers political, economic, trade, humanitarian and other cooperation.
Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov shared his impressions of the meeting with President Ilham Aliyev and the discussions during the visit.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed his thoughts on regional issues, gender policy, youth policy, economic cooperation, the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission, parliamentary diplomacy, inter-parliamentary dialogue and other topics.
