As part of the active international preparations for the upcoming Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) in August, Ambassador Hemra Amannazarov to Austria held a fruitful meeting with Ms. Fatou Haidara, Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), at the UN Headquarters in Vienna.

The discussion focused on key aspects and opportunities for cooperation aimed at supporting the sustainable development of landlocked developing countries. The parties exchanged views on issues related to the preparations for the LLDC3 Conference, which will be held from August 5 to 8, 2025.

This meeting highlights the broad spectrum of Turkmenistan’s engagement with international organizations ahead of the LLDC3 Conference, demonstrating targeted efforts to ensure comprehensive support and a successful forum, with a particular focus on industrial aspects and sustainable development.

UNIDO works in landlocked developing countries on sustainable supply chains, clean energy, climate action and food security. UNIDO’s efforts promote entrepreneurship and support for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as investment in technology and knowledge transfer.
