TON Foundation launches UAE "Golden Visa" program for Toncoin holders
The TON Foundation has announced the launch of a program enabling holders of Toncoin cryptocurrency to obtain a ten-year "Golden Visa" in the United Arab Emirates. This initiative presents an alternative to traditional methods of acquiring UAE residency, which typically demand significantly larger investments—starting from $540,000 in real estate or business ventures.
To qualify for the visa, applicants are required to invest $100,000 in Toncoin for a period of three years and pay a fee of $35,000. The document processing time is approximately seven weeks. The obtained visa extends not only to the investor but also to their spouse, children, and parents.
News of the program's launch has noticeably impacted the market, with the Toncoin exchange rate immediately rising by 12%, surpassing $3. It is worth noting that the TON (Telegram Open Network) blockchain platform was initially developed by the Telegram messenger team. Following its launch without Pavel Durov's direct involvement and the integration of the TON Wallet crypto-wallet into Telegram in September 2023, Toncoin entered the top 10 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. In early 2025, Durov confirmed that TON would become Telegram's exclusive blockchain partner.
