China's latest quadruped robot, the Black Panther 2.0, has set a new world speed record for robots. During the CMG World Robot Skills Competition in Wuhan, it reached a speed of 10.3 meters per second (m/s), significantly surpassing the previous record of 8.89 m/s held by Boston Dynamics' WildCat robot for the past decade.

The Black Panther 2.0 is a relatively lightweight and compact machine, weighing only 38 kg and standing 0.63 meters tall. To achieve such impressive speed, engineers implemented a series of innovative solutions:

• Huygens' Pendulum Principle: Synchronizing the movement of all four limbs based on this principle optimized running efficiency.

• Specialized Shock-Absorbing Knee Joints: These joints reduce structural stress and significantly decrease energy consumption during movement.

• Carbon Fiber "Shins": The use of carbon fiber increased leg stiffness by 135% with only a minimal 16% increase in weight.

• "Clawed" Sole Design: This design improved surface grip by 200%, which is crucial for high-speed locomotion.

This achievement underscores China's substantial progress and innovative potential within the field of robotics.
