The delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, took an active part in the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), which was held on July 4 in the Azerbaijani city of Khankendi. The summit, held under the motto "New Vision of ECO for a Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Future", became an important platform for strengthening multilateral cooperation and developing joint solutions aimed at sustainable, inclusive and balanced development of the region.

In his speech, Minister Meredov emphasized the key importance of the new program document, which will define the goals and priorities of economic cooperation of the ECO countries until 2035.

Turkmenistan reaffirmed its continued commitment to the principles of multilateral cooperation within the ECO, highlighting a number of strategic areas:

Logistics and transport: Creation of efficient transport and logistics routes and further integration of the ECO transport and logistics systems.

Energy: Diversification of energy supply routes and development of "green" energy. In this context, it was proposed to create a mechanism for coordinating the energy policies of the ECO member states to ensure reliable supplies and strengthen the region's energy security.

Trade and investment: Removal of barriers to trade development and attraction of investment, as well as intensification of direct contacts between business circles, including through chambers of commerce and industry.

Technology and innovation: Development of cooperation in the field of modern technologies and innovations.

Cultural and humanitarian ties: The conviction that the intensification of these ties will strengthen the foundation for further integration and prosperity of the ECO region.

The participants of the Summit expressed confidence that its results will make a significant contribution to deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between the ECO member states, moving the region towards a sustainable and prosperous future.
