The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Met with the President of Azerbaijan in Khankendi
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov met on Thursday, July 3, with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Khankendi, where the XVII Summit of the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is being held.
Rashid Meredov conveyed to the head of Azerbaijan the greetings of National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Ilham Aliyev conveyed return greetings to the leadership of Turkmenistan and the fraternal Turkmen people.
At the meeting, it was once again emphasized that Azerbaijanis and Turkmens are two fraternal peoples linked by common ethnic roots, historical and cultural ties. A broad exchange of views took place on cooperation between the two countries in the energy, transport, cultural, humanitarian, scientific, educational and other spheres.
In particular, it was noted that Days of Culture of Turkmenistan will be held in Azerbaijan, and Days of Culture of Azerbaijan will be held in Turkmenistan, the press service of the Azerbaijani leader reported.
