Rubio Thanks Turkmenistan for Assistance in Evacuating US Citizens from Iran

In a telephone conversation with Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed gratitude to Ashgabat for its assistance in ensuring the safe departure of US citizens from Iran through the border of Turkmenistan.

During the conversation, Secretary of State Rubio and Foreign Minister Meredov reaffirmed their commitment to further cooperation on humanitarian issues. The heads of diplomatic agencies discussed the regional situation and further bilateral partnership, including the expansion of economic and trade ties, US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce reported.
