British company RML Group has achieved a breakthrough, securing approval for the mass production of its innovative VarEVolt battery. This technology enables a full charge for electric vehicles in just 18 seconds, fundamentally transforming the possibilities of electric transport.

The VarEVolt boasts an exceptionally high energy density of 6 kW per kilogram and a C-rate of 200, significantly outperforming contemporary batteries that typically require 12-15 minutes for charging. Its modular architecture allows for customization to meet diverse requirements, whether prioritizing maximum power output or extended range, making it an appealing solution for all types of electric vehicles.

While the technology is currently employed in exclusive hypercars, RML Group plans to offer upgrade kits for existing EV models, potentially increasing their power output eightfold. The authorization for mass production removes a critical barrier to the widespread adoption of electric vehicles: lengthy charging times. This development opens new prospects not only for the automotive industry but also for logistics, public transportation, and even aviation, heralding an era where multi-hour charging stops will become a relic of the past.
