The Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States and the International Trade Centre will host the Landlocked Developing Countries Private Sector Forum.

The Forum will be held as a special event of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) and will be held from 5 to 8 August 2025 in Avaza, Turkmenistan.

The Forum provides an opportunity to provide recommendations to governments at the Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries, which meets every ten years to convene heads of state and government from the 193 full members of the United Nations, as well as international organizations and other stakeholders, to set the development agenda for the next decade for landlocked developing countries (LLDCs).

The Forum will feature a high-profile speaker programme, thematic sessions, side events, and networking and exhibition areas. Discussions and key events will focus on trade, technology, infrastructure and investment to support sustainable development in low-income countries.

The first thematic session, Trade and Transit, will feature Umberto de Pretto, Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union (IRU).
