SOCAR presents environmental initiatives in Turkmenistan
The President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Rovshan Najaf, participated in the International Scientific and Practical Conference in Ashgabat titled "Ecological Aspects of Applying Innovative Technologies in the Development of Hydrocarbon Fields".
During his address at the conference, Mr. Najaf discussed the key challenges for sustainable development at the intersection of energy, technology, and ecology.
Speaking about SOCAR's objective to achieve "net zero" by 2050, its decarbonization initiatives, and the steps undertaken in this direction, the head of the company provided information on renewable energy projects implemented by "SOCAR Green" (a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan), low-carbon solutions, and efforts to monitor methane emissions using satellite observation technologies.
The President of SOCAR noted Azerbaijan's active participation in the fight against global climate change and emphasized that hosting a prestigious event like COP29 in Baku is a clear indication of the country's serious approach to environmental issues.
