On June 5, a meeting was held in New Delhi between Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and External Affairs Minister of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. The ministers discussed key aspects of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of regular high-level meetings to strengthen political dialogue.

During the talks, key issues of cooperation in the regional and international arenas were touched upon, including efforts within global organizations. The ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying mutually beneficial partnership, with a special emphasis on expanding trade and economic cooperation and developing the legal framework.

Particular attention was paid to improving the efficiency of the joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation, as well as new areas of cooperation in the fields of information technology, transport, chemical, textile and pharmaceutical industries.

The most important topic of the meeting was the discussion of the implementation of the international gas pipeline project Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI), which is of strategic importance for the region.

Cultural and humanitarian cooperation was also in the center of attention of the parties, especially in the field of science and education.

Minister Meredov is in New Delhi on a visit as part of the 4th meeting of the India-Central Asia Dialogue, which will be held on June 6. During the dialogue, key issues of trade, technology, security and the development of regional partnership will be discussed.

On June 5, the foreign ministers of the Dialogue member countries took part in a meeting of the India-Central Asia Business Council.
