At Computex 2025, the company Sparkle presented a rather unusual graphics card — Project Thundermage. This is not an external, but a fully-fledged desktop discrete graphics card based on an Intel Arc graphics processing unit.

The key feature of the card lies in the presence of two USB-C connectors on the rear panel. It is anticipated that one of them supports the Thunderbolt 5 interface, providing a full speed of up to 80 Gbps. This solution allows for the transmission of both display signals and power over a single cable, while the card is capable of delivering up to 27 W of power.

It appears that Project Thundermage is currently a prototype, and its mass production remains uncertain.
