Ashgabat hosted the "Marathon of Peace and Trust" in honor of Europe Day
On May 31, 2025, the "Marathon of Peace and Trust" was successfully held in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. This large-scale event, timed to coincide with the celebration of Europe Day, was organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan in conjunction with the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports and the Ashgabat City Administration. A total of 517 individuals participated in the race.
The marathon took place around the Independence Park from 07:00 to 11:00. The start and finish lines were located at the intersection of Turkmenbashi Avenue and 10 ýyl Abadançylyk Street (Moskovskaya). The organizers provided three distances for participants of various age categories: 2 km – for children under 16 years of age, accompanied by adults, 5 km and 10 km – for participants over 16 years of age.
To ensure the comfort and safety of the runners, the necessary infrastructure was organized. A special catering zone was available for children, and water and fruit stations were provided for participants in the 5 km and 10 km distances.
Following the marathon, the winners and the most active participants were recognized with prizes and commemorative gifts. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by entertainment contests and sports activities.
