Japan and Turkmenistan Strengthen Cooperation in the Legal Sphere
On May 29, a meeting took place in Tokyo between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, A. Bayramov, and the Minister of Justice of Japan, Keisuke Suzuki. The parties discussed the development of bilateral relations, with particular attention given to legislative cooperation within the "Central Asia + Japan" format, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan.
The Japanese side presented initiatives aimed at strengthening legal cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries.
The Turkmen side invited the Minister to visit Turkmenistan and shared information about upcoming international events: the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (August 5–8 in Avaza), and a forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality (December 12 in Ashgabat).
Both parties agreed to continue joint work within the framework of the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue.
The "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue was established in 2004 and brings together Japan and the five regional countries, including Turkmenistan, to cooperate on issues such as energy, sustainable development, transport, law, and humanitarian interaction.
