Sweden – England – 0:2
On July 7, Samara Arena Stadium hosted the contest of two strong and irreconcilable football teams of Sweden and England. There was nothing interesting until the 19th minute when Harry Kane had real chance to score the goal.
However, after 11 minutes, the English open the score by the efforts of Harry Maguire who scored a goal off his head.
On the 45th minute, Raheem Sterling from Manchester City could not tackle the goalkeeper and the defender of the Scandinavians Andreas Granqvist from Krasnodar.
After the beginning of the second half, the Swedish was close to equalize the score but they had no luck. Shortly after that, Three Lions tried to gain the control over the ball.
The 59th minute became a landmark for the English – Bamidele Alli scores a goal off his head 0:2. The Swedish team lost real chances to narrow the gap in the score on the 62nd and 72nd minutes and the English responded dangerously on the 66th minute.
Despite all the efforts, the forefathers of the football were qualified to the semi-final while Swedish team goes home.
Russia – Croatia – 2:2 (3:4 by penalty)
Last round for the semi-final of the World Cup 2018 was played under the refereeing of Sandro Richie from Brazil. The match was held at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi. On the 6th minute, the Croatians made the first dangerous situation at the goals of the Russians. It was made by Rebic. The first half an hour was very boring. Both teams did not want to aggravate the match, as there was too many put on the stake. On the 31st minute, Denis Cheryshev opened the score with excellent long kick – the goalkeeper did not event move.
However, 8 minutes later, Kramaric heat a goal off his head. It is 1:1 now. On the 60th minute, the Croatians could change the score but Igor Akinfeev and his team-mates were saved by the post. There was nothing interesting until the ned of the match.
Overtime. The 101st minute – Vida brought his team forward. Russian has very little time to get back into the game. However, 5 minutes before the end of the second additional half, Mario Fernandez made miracle and equalized the score.
In the penalty series, the team from Balkan Peninsula had more luck and would meet with England in the semi-final on July 11.
