Turkmen artists are expected at the International Festival "Highlanders" in Dagestan
A creative team from Turkmenistan will take part in the XXIII International Festival of Folklore and Traditional Culture "Highlanders", which will be held from June 11 to 16 in the Republic of Dagestan (Russian Federation). This became known during a meeting of the Government of Dagestan dedicated to organizational issues of the festival. Along with the team from Turkmenistan, representatives from Belarus, Uzbekistan, South Ossetia and more than twenty regions of Russia are also expected to participate in the festival.
The events of the festival "Highlanders" will take place at various venues in the cities of Derbent, Kizilyurt, Kaspiysk, Khasavyurt and a number of districts of Dagestan. The program includes gala concerts, festivals of folk songs and dances, music, national costume, folk crafts and trades.
The festival "Highlanders" traditionally serves as a platform for demonstrating multinational cultural wealth and strengthening international cultural exchange. The participation of the Turkmen group will be an important contribution to the palette of cultural diversity of the festival and will allow viewers to become acquainted with the traditional art of Turkmenistan.
