A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Foreign Minister Serdar Muhammetdurdyev and a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by head of the Fund's mission to Turkmenistan, Anna Rose Bordon.

The parties held talks, focusing on the current state and prospects of Turkmenistan's interaction with the IMF, including issues of technical and advisory support, as well as training of specialists. Particular attention was paid to monitoring macroeconomic indicators, exchanging statistical data and promoting structural reforms to ensure sustainable economic development of the country.

Representatives of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to the IMF experts for their methodological assistance and practical recommendations, which are actively used in the development and implementation of economic policy. It was emphasized that the country considers the IMF as an important partner in the process of reforms aimed at increasing the openness of the national economy and its integration into the global economic space.

The meeting also touched upon current challenges related to the unstable global geopolitical situation and its impact on national economies, including external risks, trade prospects and tariff regulation. Of particular interest were issues related to Turkmenistan's accession to the World Trade Organization, the implementation of major infrastructure projects and the improvement of mechanisms for the exchange of economic information.

Anna Bordon highly appreciated Turkmenistan's efforts to maintain macroeconomic stability and noted the constructive nature of the current dialogue. The parties also discussed the development of foreign economic relations and bilateral agreements.
