The "Intervision" music contest will be held on September 20th at the Live Arena in Moscow, according to RBC Life, citing the press service of "Channel One". This is a revived song contest that was held by European socialist countries from the late 1960s. Notably, states from all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, could participate in it. With the dissolution of the socialist bloc, "Intervision" ceased to exist. In February 2025, the President of the Russian Federation issued a decree on the revival of this music contest. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko has been appointed Chairman of the organizing committee, and First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Sergey Kiriyenko has been appointed Chairman of the supervisory board.

According to the organizers, there are plans to involve countries from BRICS, SCO, and CIS, as well as Latin American and Central Asian states, in the contest. Currently, about 20 countries have expressed interest in participating in the song contest. At least 14 participating countries, in addition to the host country Russia, may advance to the final.

The contest website lists the countries that have expressed a desire to participate in the festival. Among them are: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Egypt, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, China, Cuba, UAE, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and South Africa. The participants from Russia and Kyrgyzstan are already known – Yaroslav Dronov, known under the pseudonym Shaman, and the trio NOMAD. The contest website also names countries that may participate in the competition and present their songs, as envisioned by the project. These are Bolivia, Hungary, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ethiopia.
