Turkmenistan's transport and communications sector demonstrates high performance
Turkmenistan's transport and communications complex continues to develop at an accelerated pace. According to the results of January-April 2025, the growth rate of work performed and services rendered in the industry amounted to 116.6%. This was announced by Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers Mammetkhan Chakyev at a government meeting on Thursday.
The highest performance was noted in the activities of the Türkmenhowaýollary aviation agency, where the growth of services amounted to 123.9%. Next come the Türkmenaragatnaşyk communications agency - 121.2%, the Türkmendeňizderýaýollary sea and river agency - 110.6%, the Türkmenawtoulaglary automobile agency - 110.1%, and the Türkmendemirýollary railway agency - 106.8%.
In general, the plan for cargo transportation by various modes of transport was fulfilled by 103.7%, and for passenger transportation - by 102.3%.
The data announced confirm the effectiveness of the current policy of modernization and digitalization of infrastructure aimed at improving mobility, logistics capabilities and the quality of transport services in the country.
