The Turkmenistan national ice hockey team has secured its second victory at the Ice Hockey World Championship
The national team of Turkmenistan played its second match within Group A of Division III at the Ice Hockey World Championship and achieved a win.
The hockey players of Turkmenistan defeated the tournament hosts, the Turkish national team, which is considered the group favorite. At the 8th minute of the match, Kerven Bayliyev put the Turkmenistan national team in the lead. The Turks managed to equalize three minutes before the end of the first period. At the beginning of the second twenty-minute interval, Aleksandr Vahovskiy scored the second goal for the team of Turkmenistan, which ultimately proved to be the winning goal. In the final minutes of the match, the Turkish hockey players scored, but after video review, the referee disallowed the goal.
In another match in Group A of Division III, the South Africa national team defeated Bosnia with a score of 3-2.
Following two matches, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan share the first position with six points each.
In the third round, on April 24th, Turkmenistan will play against Luxembourg, Kyrgyzstan against Bosnia, and Turkiye against South Africa.
