The intensification and new formats of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia in the field of cinematography were discussed on April 11 at a meeting between Ambassador Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov and Director of LE Khaindrao Production Georgiy Khaindrava. According to the Turkmen diplomatic mission, the parties exchanged views on the possibility of Turkmen-Georgian cooperation in the film industry, holding mutual film days, and creating joint documentaries and feature films. During the meeting, it was noted that cinematography, reflecting the traditions and cultural values of different peoples, is an important tool for dialogue and mutual understanding between different cultures, contributing to the rapprochement of peoples.

The meeting participants expressed confidence that cooperation in the field of cinematography will contribute to the popularization of the national culture and art of the two countries, as well as further strengthening of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two peoples. In this, Georgian and Turkmen filmmakers can rely on the existing positive experience of both the past, when the widely known films of "Gruzia-film" and "Turkmenfilm" were created, and our days. Thus, on November 22, 2024, as part of the international celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi, the Days of Turkmen Cinema were held in Tbilisi, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia jointly with the Georgian Film Academy. Screenings of the films "Composer" by director Maksat Gylyjov, "Istarin" by director Arslan Eyeberdiev and "Red Kurte" by director Sahysalykh Bayramov allowed the Georgian public to get to know Turkmen cinematography and the creative searches of the younger generation of its representatives. The event became a significant contribution to deepening intercultural dialogue between the two countries.

New impetus for the intensification of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia in many areas, including cultural and humanitarian, was given by the results of the talks held on March 7 this year between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, who arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit. As the head of Turkmenistan noted, our countries today have sufficient potential to bring Turkmen-Georgian cooperation to a qualitatively new level that meets real opportunities and mutual objective needs. In this regard, readiness was expressed to strengthen bilateral cultural and humanitarian contacts, where there are great prospects for interaction and exchange of experience in the field of culture and art, science and education, holding joint events, exhibitions and conferences.
