Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will take part in the eighth meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Asia and Russia, which will be held on April 11 in Almaty. This was reported by vedomosti.ru with reference to the statement of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova during a briefing. According to her, the event is planned to discuss a wide range of the most pressing issues of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation in the six-party format. "It is planned to exchange views on key international issues with an emphasis on coordinating efforts to strengthen security and stability in Central Asia," Zakharova noted.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also reported on the meeting of Sergey Lavrov with the heads of diplomatic missions of a number of Eurasian states accredited in Russia, which took place in Moscow on April 7. In his opening remarks, the Russian Foreign Minister gave fundamental assessments of the security situation in various parts of Eurasia. He noted the crisis in the concept of Euro-Atlantic security and drew attention to the dangerous actions of NATO states aimed at destabilizing the situation in the Asia-Pacific region, the explosive situation in the Middle East, and the risks to stability in the South Caucasus and Central Asia.

During the discussion, the need to ensure stability in the Eurasian space, the practical application of the principle of indivisibility of security and the primary responsibility of Eurasian states for solving Eurasian problems was emphasized. The importance of the international conference organized annually in Minsk for holding a serious discussion on Eurasian security was noted. The Minister drew attention to the initiative put forward by the Republic of Belarus and supported by the Russian Federation to prepare a "Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century" - a programmatic document that could set out the framework parameters of the continental security architecture.
