Turkmenistan and Mongolia develop dialogue in the field of culture and tourism
As part of a working visit to Ulaanbaatar, Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Nursakhet Shirimov met with Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia Chinbat Nomin. The parties had a fruitful exchange of views on expanding and deepening cooperation in the field of culture and tourism.
During the meeting, important agreements were reached aimed at enhancing cultural exchange between the two countries. In particular, a decision was made to strengthen cooperation between the National Museum of Turkmenistan and the National Museum of Genghis Khan in Mongolia, which is one of the largest in Asia.
In addition, the parties agreed to jointly organize an exhibition of Turkmen folk crafts and carpets in Mongolia. This initiative will allow the Mongolian people to become more familiar with the rich culture and unique traditions of the Turkmen people.
The possibility of organizing a Turkmen cultural performance in Mongolia was considered, which would be another step in strengthening cultural ties.
An important aspect of cooperation will be the mutual translation and publication of classical literary works of Turkmenistan and Mongolia, which will contribute to a better understanding of the spiritual heritage of the two peoples.
Also, within the framework of the meeting, artists and specialists in the field of cultural heritage from Turkmenistan received an official invitation to take part in the World Culture Festival "Nomad", which is held in Mongolia and is an authoritative platform for demonstrating the cultural diversity of the nomadic peoples of the world, Mongolian media reports.
The agreements reached demonstrate the mutual desire of Turkmenistan and Mongolia to develop fruitful cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, which will contribute to strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples.
The Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia signed two memorandums of understanding - on cultural cooperation and on tourism - during the visit of Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh to Ashgabat in October 2024.
