In Dushanbe, discussions are underway at the international level regarding communication and digital integration

In the capital of Tajikistan today, April 8th, the 27th session of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC) Commission commenced. The agenda of this international meeting includes prospects for the digitalization of national economies and trends in the development of the telecommunications industry.
The RCC unites Eurasian states interested in fostering international cooperation in the field of communications. Sessions of the RCC Commission are held biannually on the territory of member countries, with Dushanbe hosting the April 2025 meeting. Participants from 19 countries, including Turkmenistan, as well as representatives from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), have gathered in the Tajik capital.
The event featured discussions on the regulation of the radio frequency spectrum and satellite orbits, the forum "Digital Transformation: Prospects and Solutions" and an exhibition of information and communication technologies.
Forum participants deliberated on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation among the country's telecommunications operators, ensuring equitable access to telecommunications in member states, modernizing industry infrastructure, establishing new base station sites for mobile communication with 4G and 5G standards, optimizing service costs, directly connecting the country's telecommunication networks to the international system of submarine internet cables, implementing joint projects, creating data processing centers and databases for large volumes of data, and expanding the use of satellite communication networks and technologies.

During the 27th session of the Regional Allied Commission, significant issues concerning the regulation of the radio frequency spectrum and satellite orbits at the regional and sub-regional state levels were analyzed and discussed. Participants noted that holding such meetings lays the foundation for strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in various sectors of the communications industry.
Delegates will also consider preparations for the Radiocommunication Assembly and the World Radiocommunication Conference, expected to take place in 2027, as well as the 160th anniversary of the International Telecommunication Union. The session will continue its work until April 11th.
In November 2023, Ashgabat hosted a joint meeting of the 59th Council of Heads of Communications Administrations of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC) and the 29th meeting of the Coordination Council of the CIS Member States on Informatization under the RCC.
