On Monday, March 31st, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held telephone conversations with the leaders of Pakistan and Iran. Notably, both calls were initiated by Turkmenistan's geographical neighbors.

Telephone diplomacy holds a significant place in the work of heads of state. Its key advantage lies in the fact that the practice of telephone conversations between leaders can be employed considerably more frequently than in-person negotiations. However, each telephone conversation, serving as an instrument of international relations, allows heads of state to jointly review the current level of interaction and promptly determine near-term prospects for the further development of interstate dialogue.

Thus, both nations whose leaders spoke with the President of Turkmenistan are Islamic. Therefore, it is not surprising that the topic of the conclusion of the Muslim fast, Oraza, and related congratulatory messages to each other and the peoples of friendly countries, were particularly emphasized in the conversations between the interlocutors.

Importantly, during the telephone conversations, satisfaction was expressed with the level of development of interstate relations between Turkmenistan and Pakistan and Iran in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

It is also noteworthy that particular emphasis was placed on the fuel-energy and transport-communication sectors.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran were unanimous in their readiness to further enrich mutually beneficial ties with Turkmenistan across a wide range of issues, imbuing them with new content based on the principles of equality and respect.

The telephone conversations held on Monday also reaffirmed the interlocutors' interest in closer contacts for the further strengthening of interstate relations. This is evidenced by the invitations extended to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, voiced by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Masoud Pezeshkian, to visit Pakistan and Iran at any convenient time.

The leaders of the neighboring states also received reciprocal invitations to visit Turkmenistan.

Thus, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has once again confirmed that the country continues its progress along the path of developing good-neighborly relations with all interested partners, based on the policy of positive neutrality, supported by the world community through the United Nations, which, at Turkmenistan's initiative, has declared the current year the International Year of Peace and Trust.
