Cotton growers of Turkmenistan to start sowing on March 26
Preparations for the important season of cotton sowing are in full swing in Turkmenistan, the start of which is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, across the country. This became known during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, where Deputy Chairman of the Government Tangryguly Atakhalliyev reported on the state of affairs in the agro-industrial complex and the regions of the country.
As reported, work on fertilizing and vegetation irrigation continues in the wheat fields, spring sowing of other crops is underway, as well as care for potatoes and vegetables and melons. At the same time, active preparations for cotton sowing are underway in the velayats. In particular, agricultural machinery that will be used in the upcoming campaign is being checked and repaired, and high-quality seeds are being prepared. In order to ensure a high cotton harvest in the regions, it is planned to organize seminars with the participation of experienced farmers, specialists, scientists and machine operators.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced the start of sowing on March 26 in all regions of the country and addressed the honorary elders with a request to start the upcoming campaign, wishing agricultural workers great success in their difficult but important work. The start of cotton sowing is one of the key events in the agricultural calendar of Turkmenistan, determining food security and the country's export potential. Traditionally, this campaign is given special attention at the state level.
